| Third Quarter Mission Report 2008 Chennai December2, 08
The terrorist activity claimed over 193 lives last week in Mumbai. The nation is in pain and fear. Now the hostages are released. No one from Chennai or from the brotherhood was physically hurt. Cyclone "Nisha" brought continuous rain for 5 days. The whole of Tamil Nadu was flooded. 3/4th of Chennai was under water.This is record flood in Chennai for the past 25 years. The Bible college roof was damaged. Books, Bible correspondence course, hand out lessons and Bibles were unusable wet.The Faith hospital was surrounded by water. Over 100 people died and a million people homeless. Thousands of people lost their livelihood.14 families at East Annanagar church of Christ lived near the Canal. Their houses were damaged. Hundreds of church members gone to safer places leaving their homes. Yesterday they began to return only to find the damaged houses. It will take month for the people to return to normal life. We are distributing rice and the basic necessities to the affected people. Above all praying and studying God's word with people. On the 27th of November 17 people were baptized into Christ.
